For the past few days the donkeys and I have only been able to exchange a few words over hay bins … We’re into the final few days of set up and preparation for THE fair (aka The Parham Fair). We’re a tiny village – with a small troupe of volunteers – who get a LOT done at this time of year!
So – while I’m bouncing back and forth from the fair grounds Paco is becoming more and more cuddly … I think he is thinking back to when I used to disappear to school for months at a time.
Darby is enjoying the extra visitors (except for the one who spiked our red training ball at her yesterday afternoon!!!#$$%@$%). Why do people think it is okay to scare other people’s animals … in the so called name of ‘fun’? Reminds me of the school yard bullies who always followed up their mean digs with ‘just kidding!’
This morning as I finish up printing and organizing Rufus is keeping a close eye on my progress. Well … okay … maybe not a ‘close’ eye … maybe that should be a ‘closed eye’! 😉
If you’re in our area – come on out to visit the fair. It is a great small town gathering of people, artists and animals of all kinds.
The Country Fair Games are great entertainment – both for those taking part and those watching! We start of with hay bale rolling races tomorrow at 5:30 and then have log sawing, nail hammering, egg toss, foot races and more throughout Saturday.
We also have a great line up of musical talent. I’m excited and nervous all at the same time! Wish us a good fair season!
